Founder, Late Chairman and Managing Director

Mr. Nickunj Shah, Founder Chairman of the NICKUNJ Group, envisioned bridging the gap in India's technology-starved manufacturing industries. With over 40 years of experience collaborating with global technology leaders, he pioneered innovative products, services, and strategies. By establishing 5 dedicated SBUs, he transformed the Group from a product supplier to a holistic solutions provider, driving the evolution of India's manufacturing sector.

Mishal Shah

Managing Director and CEO

Mr. Mishal Shah, now Managing Director of the Nickunj Group, has played a pivotal role in expanding the company's reach beyond Indian shores. With a focus on authentic insights driving informed actions, Mishal reversed the reliance on imports by developing superior products that rival overseas technology leaders.

Under his leadership, Nickunj's EDM wires have earned global recognition, with leading OEMs adopting them as premium offerings. Committed to upholding the Nickunj legacy, Mishal ensures the Group remains a trusted, innovative partner, serving a growing customer base with excellence built over four decades.

Our Legacy

From a Garage to a Global Footprint

1969-1978

Inception

Nickunj Enterprises was founded in a small garage in Pydhonie, Mumbai, trading in crucibles and seamless pipes, named after its future successor. The garage was converted to Nickunj House, expanding its operations in the entire premises. In time, Nickunj Shah formally joined the business, marking a new phase of expansion and growth.

1982-1985

Foundation

Formed global alliances with SMC Super Alloys and Kureha Carbon-Japan, expanding into advanced industrial products, followed by an exclusive agency of Le Carbone Lorraine, France (now Mersen).

1987

Establishing Nickunj Eximp Entp P Ltd

Nickunj Eximp Entp P Ltd (NEEPL), the flagship company of the Group today, was incorporated and operations moved to the group's current headquarters in Marine Lines, Mumbai.

1998-1999

Diversification and Growth

Expanded into high-tech machine tools industry by partnering with six leading overseas principals and over time, added complimentary products and solutions diversifying into 15 business divisions.

2000

Graphite Machining Facility established in Rabale, Mumbai

First foray into the field of manufacturing/machining of Graphite products.

2005-2006

First EDM Wire Manufacturing Unit Established

Demerger of the EDM Division into a standalone entity, Nickunj EDM Wires & Consumables P Ltd, for the manufacturing of plain and coated EDM wires and distribution of complimentary EDM consumables. The first unit established in Baddi, HP.

2011

Strategic Restructuring into SBUs

Restructuring of 15 business divisions into 5 strategic business units (SBUs): Advanced Engineering Solutions, High-Temperature Solutions, Jewellery Manufacturing Solutions, Electrical Discharge Machining Solutions, and Metal Cutting Solutions.
